Since 2005 I am member of the German Bundestag and Currently finance-policy spokesman for the Alliance 90/The Greens parliamentary group as well as Deputy chairman of the Finance Committee.
Born on 18 April 1972 in Hechingen, Germany. Obtained Abitur (higher -education entrance qualification) in 1991. Civilian service. Studied economics in Bamberg, Madrid and Freiburg from 1992 to 1998; obtained doctorate in finance in 2002.
Research assistant at the Walter Eucken Institute in Freiburg from 1998 to 2001 and at the Stiftung Marktwirtschaft (Market Economy Foundation) in Berlin from 2001 to 2004; project manager at the Bertelsmann Foundation in Gütersloh from 2004 to 2005.
Joined Alliance 90/The Greens in 1996. Spokesman for the economics and finance working group set up by the Baden -Württemberg Land branch of Alliance 90/The Greens from 2000 to 2001 and spokesman for the equivalent working group at federal level from 2001 to June 2007; member of the Alliance 90/The Greens party council since November 2008
